you need to open something on your phone that has been specially designed for virtual reality. The easiest way is searching “VR Split Screen” videos on YouTube or a VR app. Then the smartphone screen will split. Instead of one big screen you get one little screen for each eye. Now your smartphone is ready to be a virtual reality screen for your cardboard headset.
